h i s t o r y. On October 30, Molly Prewett was born in St. Mungo's hospital exactly three weeks and two days before her scheduled due date. The Healers did everything they could, but Molly still had trouble breathing after a few days in a Quarantined oxygen tank. The Healers told Bridget and William that their newborn child may not last very long -- one year, at the very most. Nevertheless, they brought her home and decided that no matter what, she was still their daughter. They treated her just like they would have their twins, Gideon and Fabian, except perhaps with a little more caution. About eight months later, the Healers told Mr. and Mrs. Prewett that Molly's health was improving, and she should survive with minimal breathing problems. Molly was a miracle, they said. Even if she was a miracle, the Prewetts still handled Molly with extra care. Bridget taught her sons to always look out for Molly because she was younger and more fragile than they were. Gideon in particular took that quite literally, constantly keeping watch over his younger sister. When Molly was about to turn eleven, Gideon and Fabian received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents were so proud, but Molly found herself extremely jealous and overcome with grief. She didn't want her brothers to leave her, selfish as it sounded. She also thought that she would never get into Hogwarts -- her parents had said it was rather doubtful, in her condition. Molly was so upset, and that year was extremely hard for her. She practically begged her parents to let her go to a muggle public school, but her parents didn't have the money to keep her away and wanted her to stay close to home, with them. Almost an agonizing year later, Molly got the letter. Her parents were so shocked, but Molly was extremely excited. She packed her bags then and there. Her parents weren't so convinced, though. It wasn't until Gideon and Fabian talked them into it that they were fine with it. Molly fell in love with Hogwarts. She called it her second home. She enjoyed her studies, even if they were a little hard for her taste. She hasn't been able to be very social, though, because her brothers always tended to hold her back. Molly has never had a steady boyfriend -- her brothers always chased them away. Molly has kissed a few boys, but she will never tell her brothers that, ever. She only has very close friends because it isn't often that she can regularly hang out and do something fun. Her brothers worry about her breathing. Molly always insists that she's fine, she's not fragile or delicate, and that she's perfectly capable of having fun with her peers.

o t h e r. Bridget and William Prewett were never the most wealthy of couples, but they were certainly very much in love. They decided that happiness meant a lot more than money, and with both of them working low-paying Ministry jobs, they learned to get on until Bridget was pregnant with the twins. Bridget had a lot of work on her hands with the twins, who were a job in itself. William was eventually promoted to a slightly higher status in the Ministry, but he still wasn't exactly making a pretty penny. When Molly came along, it took a lot of money for hospital bills, breathing machines and potions to keep her medicated so that her heart wouldn't fail. When the three kids were finally out of the house and at Hogwarts, Bridget went back to working at a local salon cutting hair, and William kept with his job. Molly is extremely close to her two brothers -- so close that they won't let her out of their sight. Both of them are extremely protective of her, and while Molly values family over anything else, she's rather reluctant to keep them happy because she'd for once like to spend time with her friends.
Molly is often stubborn and moody, especially since her parents and brothers make the mistake of calling her 'delicate' or 'fragile.' She hates being labeled as something weak more than anything else. Because of her great dislike for being put down, Molly could be called rather feisty. Though she has her moments, Molly can also be shy and is intimidated very easily. What Molly wants more than anything is just to be respected, not prejudiced by something that happened a long time ago.
